For the Beach Hazards Statement,dangerous rip currents are expected today.* WHERE...Virginia Beach.* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 4 PM EDT thisafternoon. For the Beach Hazards Statement, until 8 PM EDTthis evening.* IMPACTS...Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerablelocations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a lowthreat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of waterabove ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roadsand low lying property including parking lots, parks and lawnsnear the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. Breakingwaves of 3 to 5 ft will result in rough surf conditions and ahigh risk of rip currents.If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may beclosed. Do not drive around barricades or through water ofunknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-proneproperty.Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
