Flood Warning issued September 28 at 1:16PM EDT until September 28 at 5:15PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessiverainfall continues.* WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the followingcounties, Bland and Tazewell.* WHEN...Until 515 PM EDT.* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lyingand flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roadsremain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for allthe water from these storms to work through local drainage systemsin urban areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 115 PM EDT, Emergency management reported heavy rain inthe warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is alreadyoccurring. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen.- This includes the following streams and drainages...Big Creek, Bluestone River, Clinch River, Beech Fork, BurkesGarden Creek and Blue Spring Creek.Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall isexpected.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Bland, Richlands, Bluefield, Tazewell, Cedar Bluff, BurkesGarden and Ceres.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodTurn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
