For the Beach HazardsStatement, dangerous rip currents.* WHERE...Accomack and Northampton Counties.* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.* IMPACTS...Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas will resultin an elevated threat of property damage to homes andbusinesses near the waterfront and shoreline. Water will be 1to 2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in asufficient depth to close some roads and threaten homes andbusinesses. Flooding will extend inland from the waterfrontalong tidal rivers and bays resulting in some road closuresand flooding of vehicles. Breaking waves of 4 to 5 ft willresult in rough surf conditions and a high risk of ripcurrents.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Peak water levels on Tuesday are forecastto be slightly lower, but additional flooding is stillexpected.Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Iftravel is required, do not drive around barricades or throughwater of unknown depth.Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
