Coastal Flood Advisory issued September 23 at 3:24AM EDT until September 24 at 6:00PM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.* WHERE...Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Chesapeake.* WHEN...Until 6 PM EDT Tuesday.* IMPACTS...Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerablelocations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a lowthreat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of waterabove ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roadsand low lying property including parking lots, parks and lawnsnear the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Peak water levels on Tuesday are forecast tobe slightly lower, but additional flooding is still expected.If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may beclosed. Do not drive around barricades or through water ofunknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-proneproperty.
