Flood Advisory issued July 5 at 4:23PM EDT until July 5 at 8:15PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.* WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the followingcounties, Bland, Smyth and Tazewell.* WHEN...Until 815 PM EDT.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Overflowing poor drainage areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 423 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches ofrain have fallen.- This includes the following streams and drainages...Beaver Creek, Burkes Garden Creek, Blue Spring Creek, BigCreek, Beech Fork, Clinch River, Campbell Creek and BluestoneRiver.Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expectedover the area.
