Excessive Heat Warning issued June 28 at 2:12AM CDT until June 28 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 109expected.* WHERE...A portion of north central Texas.* WHEN...From noon today to 7 PM CDT this evening.* IMPACTS...Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increasethe potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for thoseworking or participating in outdoor activities.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children andpets should never be left unattended in vehicles under anycircumstances. Do not leave young children and pets in unattendedvehicles.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the OccupationalSafety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent restbreaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
