Flood Watch issued May 15 at 9:43PM CDT until May 17 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the followingareas, Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Coastal Harris, Grimes, Houston,Inland Harris, Madison, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, SanJacinto, Southern Liberty, Trinity, Walker, Waller and Washington.* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Widespread thunderstorms will develop across the areatomorrow afternoon, with the presence of a warm frontalboundary and abundant moisture providing favorable conditionsfor heavy rainfall. The flood threat will be furtherexacerbated by well-saturated soils still present acrossportions of the region due to significant antecdeantrainfall. In general, 2-4" of new rainfall can be expectedfor areas north of the I-10 corridor through Thursdayevening. Isolated locally higher totals of around 6" arepossible as well. Boat ramps and picnic areas will becompletely inundated.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 8:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 18.3 feet.- Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 17.0 feet Mondayevening.- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodDo not drive cars through flooded areas.Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
