Flood Watch issued May 15 at 9:43PM CDT until May 17 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the followingareas, Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Coastal Harris, Grimes, Houston,Inland Harris, Madison, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, SanJacinto, Southern Liberty, Trinity, Walker, Waller and Washington.* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Widespread thunderstorms will develop across the areatomorrow afternoon, with the presence of a warm frontalboundary and abundant moisture providing favorable conditionsfor heavy rainfall. The flood threat will be furtherexacerbated by well-saturated soils still present acrossportions of the region due to significant antecdeantrainfall. In general, 2-4" of new rainfall can be expectedfor areas north of the I-10 corridor through Thursdayevening. Isolated locally higher totals of around 6" arepossible as well. Flood Warning issued May 15 at 9:26PM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas...Neches River Near Alto affecting Cherokee, Anderson, Trinity andHouston Counties.For the Neches River...including Lake Palestine, Neches, Alto,Diboll, Rockland...Moderate flooding is forecast.* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding isforecast.* WHERE...Neches River near Alto.* WHEN...Until further notice.* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Expect moderate to severe flooding of theheavily wooded floodplain. Boat ramps and picnic areas will becompletely inundated.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 8:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 18.3 feet.- Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 17.0 feet Mondayevening.- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodDo not drive cars through flooded areas.Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
