Air Quality Alert issued June 11 at 4:00AM CDT by NWS Memphis TNAQAMEGThe Shelby County Health Department has issued a Code Orange OzoneForecast effective for Shelby County Tennessee, Crittenden CountyArkansas, and DeSoto County Mississippi, including the city ofMemphis for Tuesday, June 11. This ozone forecast is due toforecasted ozone values that will be unhealthy for sensitive groups.These values will exceed the Environmental Protection Agency'sfederal safe health standard. The Shelby County Health Departmentrecommends that sensitive groups which include active children andadults, and people with respiratory disease, such as asthma, limitprolonged outdoor exertion.
