Fire Weather Watch issued September 28 at 1:08PM MDT until September 30 at 7:00PM MDT by NWS Rapid City SD...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED SUNDAY AND POSSIBLYMONDAY WITH GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY ACROSS NORTHEASTWYOMING AND WESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA....Gusty south to southwest winds will develop Sunday afternoon,especially over western South Dakota where winds will gust over 40mph. Further west over the Black Hills area and northeast Wyoming,winds will be much lighter, but deeper mixing may allow forfrequent gusts to 25 mph. RH will drop 15 percent or below Sundayafternoon, which will result in critical fire weather conditions.Poor RH recovery is expected Sunday night. A cold front will thencross the region early Monday morning, supporting gusty northwestwinds through the day. Portions of western South Dakota may seegusts of over 50 mph. RH will may fall to below 20 percentMonday, especially over southwest to south central South Dakota,which may again produce critical fire weather conditions.The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Red FlagWarning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is ineffect from 10 AM MDT /11 AM CDT/ to 9 PM MDT /10 PM CDT/ Sunday.* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 325 Custer County Plains,326 Pine Ridge Area, 328 Perkins County, 329 West CentralPlains, 330 Ziebach County, 331 Haakon County Area, 332Badlands Area, 333 Bennett County Area, 334 Mellette and ToddCounties and 335 Tripp County.* WINDS...Southwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph onSunday. Northwest 25 to 35 with gusts up to 55 mph on Monday.* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent on Sunday.
