Numerous roadsremain closed due to flooding. Local media have reported waterrescues.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 841 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated continuous bands ofheavy rain passing across northwest North Carolina. Floodingis ongoing and will continue to worsen in the warned area insome areas as the night progresses. However, runoff from between 6and 9 inches of rain continues to collect in area rivers, and willcause rapid rises through the evening. Several roads have beendamaged by intense flooding, with some areas completely flooded.This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Ashe, Watauga, Alleghany, andWilkes Counties.
