Flood Warning issued September 27 at 6:41PM EDT until September 28 at 1:45AM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is ongoing.* WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including thefollowing county, Buncombe.* WHEN...Until 145 AM EDT Saturday.* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lyingand flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remainclosed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excessrunoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundatedwith water and may not be passable.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 639 PM EDT, emergency management reported widespreadflooding is ongoing in the warned area. Flooding is ongoingor expected to begin shortly. Slidescan destroy single homes and other structures and large sections ofroads. If you are in the warned area, you should not travel, exceptto move away from flash flood or landslide dangers. If you are inthe vicinity of a stream near the heavy rainfall, especially on amountainside, or at the base of a mountain or in a cove, moveimmediately to a safer location.
