Flood Warning issued September 27 at 6:52PM EDT until September 27 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.* WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including thefollowing counties, Chatham, Durham, Orange and Wake.* WHEN...Until 800 PM EDT.* IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff fromearlier rainfall.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 651 PM EDT, heavy rain from earlier thunderstorms hascaused many creeks and streams to rise out of their banks.While the threat of flash flooding has lessened, flooding oflow-lying areas and roadways will continue this evening.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, WakeForest, Garner, Carrboro, Fuquay-Varina, Zebulon, RDUInternational, Rougemont, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville,Knightdale, Wendell, Rolesville, Research Triangle andWilliam B Umstead State Park.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can becomeunstable and unsafe.
