Hot temperatures of 98 to 101 for the Gila andSacramento Mountains Foothills below 7500 feet.* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest New Mexico andsouthwest Texas.* WHEN...From noon Wednesday to 6 AM MDT Saturday.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke.To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety andHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks inshaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heatshould be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is anemergency! Call 9 1 1.

Fire Weather Watch issued June 11 at 12:34PM MDT until June 14 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa NM...CRITICAL FIRE DANGER EXPECTED FRIDAY....Wind speeds are expected to increase across western areas of NewMexico Friday as a weather system approaches from the west.Southwesterly winds of 25 to 30 mph will be common during theafternoon and evening hours. These winds will combine with veryhot and dry conditions resulting in an increase in fire dangeracross western fire zones including the Gila region along withsouthwest New Mexico.The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa hasissued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from Fridaymorning through Friday evening.* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 110.
