Heat Advisory issued June 23 at 2:47PM CDT until June 24 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS North Platte NE* WHAT...Heat index values up to 101 expected.* WHERE...Custer, Boyd, Garfield, Holt, Loup, Wheeler, Chase,Frontier, Hayes, and Lincoln Counties.* WHEN...From 1 PM CDT /noon MDT/ to 8 PM CDT /7 PM MDT/ Monday.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heatillnesses.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke.

Flood Warning issued June 23 at 11:06AM CDT until June 24 at 12:00PM CDT by NWS North Platte NE* WHAT...Flooding near and along the Ponca Creek caused by excessiverainfall is occurring.* WHERE...A portion of north central Nebraska, including thefollowing county, Boyd.* WHEN...Until noon CDT Monday.* IMPACTS...Flooding along Ponca Creek, and other low-lying andflood-prone locations is occurring. The Ponca Creek shouldgradually begin to recede over the next 24 hours.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 1105 AM CDT, Emergency management reported flooding in thewarned area. Flooding is occurring.- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall isexpected.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Spencer, Lynch, Bristow, Anoka and Monowi.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or lawenforcement and request they pass this information to the NationalWeather Service when you can do so safely.
