Be prepared to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relativesand neighbors.Young children and pets should never be left unattended invehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true duringwarm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethaltemperatures in a matter of minutes.

Air Quality Alert issued June 16 at 1:38PM EDT by NWS Grand Rapids MIThe Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy(EGLE) has declared an Air Quality Advisory for Monday, June 17 forelevated levels of ozone in West Michigan. Pollutants within thoseareas are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG,Orange AQI) range.The Air Quality Advisory is in effect for the following Michigancounties:ALLEGAN... KENT... MUSKEGON... OCEANA OTTAWA MASON AND VAN BURENCOUNTIESIt is recommended that, when possible, you avoid strenuous outdooractivities, especially those with respiratory diseases such asasthma.People and businesses are urged to avoid activities which can leadto ozone formation.
