Air Quality Alert issued June 16 at 10:42AM EDT by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MIThe Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has issued an AirQuality Advisory for Monday June 17, for elevated levels ofozone. Pollutants are expected to be in the Unhealthy for SensitiveGroups range.The alert is in effect for the following Michigan Counties,Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb, Oakland, Livingston, St. Clair, andMonroe.It is recommended that, when possible, you avoid strenuous outdooractivities, especially those with respiratory diseases such asasthma.People and businesses are urged to avoid activities which lead toozone formation. These activities include, refueling vehicles ortopping off when refueling, using gasoline powered lawn equipment,and using charcoal lighter fluid.Positive activities include, driving less, telecommuting, walking orbiking, delaying or combining errands and using water-based paints.For further information, please see EPA's Air Now site for up-to-date air quality data at https://www.airnow.gov.
