Shallow pockets of floodingless than one foot deep affect more vulnerable coastal roadsalong the North Shore from Salem and Gloucester toNewburyport. Rough surf will likely cause some splashover ontocoastal roads around the time of high tide. Roads remainpassable. Low lying areas and roads near Nantucket Harbor,including Easy Street, may experience pockets of shallowflooding less than one foot deep. Dangerous swimming andsurfing conditions and localized beach erosion.If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may beclosed. Do not drive around barricades or through water ofunknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-proneproperty.Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due todangerous surf conditions.
