Flood Watch issued September 27 at 1:06PM CDT until September 28 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southeast Missouri,southwest Indiana, and western Kentucky.* WHEN...Through Saturday morning.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- The remnants of Hurricane Helene will continue to bringperiods of heavy rainfall to the area. 2-4 inches of rain hasalready fallen in the watch area. Additional rainfall amountsof 1-2 inches are possible through tonight. Flood Advisory issued September 27 at 6:49PM CDT until September 27 at 11:00PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.* WHERE...A portion of western Kentucky, including the followingcounties, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves and Hickman.* WHEN...Until 1100 PM CDT.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Water over roadways.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 648 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain inthe advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding isalready occurring. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain havefallen.- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expectedover the area. This additional rain will result in minorflooding.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Murray, Mayfield, Fulton, Hickman, Clinton, Sedalia,Lynnville, Fulgham, Cayce, Wingo, Hazel, Arlington, WaterValley, Columbus, Harris Grove, Kirksey, New Concord andBoundurant.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize thedangers of flooding.
