Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued May 26 at 2:39PM EDT until May 26 at 3:00PM EDT by NWS Jackson KYAt 238 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a lineextending from near Head of Grassy to near Sandy Hook to Matthew toBurg, moving east at 35 mph.HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.SOURCE...Radar indicated.IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobilehomes, roofs, and outbuildings.Locations impacted include...Salyersville, Elna, Conley, Paintsville, Perston Estates andOaklawn Estates.For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of abuilding.Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespreadsignificant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediatelylikely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor ofa building. These storms may cause serious injury and significantproperty damage.Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead toflash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
