In southeast Kentucky, Bell, Clay,Floyd, Harlan, Knott, Knox, Leslie, Letcher, Perry and Pike.* WHEN...Through Friday evening.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Widespread showers and some embedded thunderstorms willaffect the area into Friday as Tropical System Heleneapproaches and interacts with a nearby stalled frontalboundary. Periods of heavy to, at times, torrential rainfallare expected from this, which may lead to incidents of flashflooding. Isolated mudslides will also be possible duringthis time.You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible FloodWarnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be preparedto take action should flooding develop.

Flood Advisory issued September 26 at 11:31AM EDT until September 26 at 2:45PM EDT by NWS Jackson KY* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.* WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the followingcounties, Bell and Harlan.* WHEN...Until 245 PM EDT.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 1131 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minorflooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in theadvisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expectedover the area. This additional rain will result in minorflooding.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Harlan, Loyall, Evarts, Wallins Creek, Mary Alice,Teetersville, Grays Knob, Elcomb, Tway, Liggett, Sunshine,White Star, Chevrolet, Lenarve, Martins Fork, Peepace Store,Harlan Gas, Clovertown, Kitts and Three Point.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.
