Flood Warning issued May 19 at 8:26PM CDT until May 20 at 12:30AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.* WHERE...A portion of South Central Kansas, including the followingcounty, Sedgwick.* WHEN...Until 1230 AM CDT.* IMPACTS...Street flooding of typical flood-prone areas is likelyacross the Wichita area.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 826 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen.- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch is possible in thewarned area.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Wichita, Derby, Andover, Haysville, Park City, Valley Center,Bel Aire, Mulvane, Goddard, Rose Hill, Maize, Clearwater,Cheney, Sedgwick, Colwich, Garden Plain, Mount Hope, DowntownWichita, Kechi and Andale.Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly twofeet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don'tdrown.Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize thedangers of flooding.
