In northeastKansas, Jackson, Jefferson, Pottawatomie and Riley.* WHEN...From 5 PM CDT this afternoon through Wednesday morning.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- An axis of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms looks to set upover the watch area late this afternoon into tonight. Much ofthis area has received heavy rain recently and could be proneto flooding with additional rounds of heavy rain.Thunderstorms with torrential rainfall may lead to amounts of1 to 3 inches, although these totals are not expected to bewidespread.You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible FloodWarnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be preparedto take action should flooding develop.

Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke.To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety andHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks inshaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heatshould be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is anemergency! Call 9 1 1.Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Carinteriors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
