Flood Warning issued September 27 at 8:44AM EDT by NWS Peachtree City GA...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers inGeorgia...Ocmulgee River near Macon affecting Monroe, Twiggs, Houston,Jones and Bibb Counties.* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.* WHERE...Ocmulgee River near Macon.* WHEN...From this morning until further notice.* IMPACTS...At 26 feet, Moderate flooding begins on the MaconGreenWay Ocmulgee Heritage Trail north of the Martin Luther KingBoulevard bridge with some areas under 6 feet of water. Backyardsof a few homes on the left bank near Glenridge Drive will beflooded. Portions of the Southern Railroad tracks around Mead Roadwill become inundated. Large portions of agricultural lands justeast and south of Macon will be under 1 to 8 feet of water.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 7:30 AM EDT Friday the stage was 17 feet and rising.- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stagelate this morning and continue rising to a crest of 26.9 feetSaturday evening.- Flood stage is 18 feet.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodTurn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
