Overnight low temperatures will remain in the mid to upper60s.* WHERE...In California, western and central Siskiyou County. Thisincludes the cities of Yreka, Weed, Etna, and Happy Camp, MtShasta City, and Dunsmuir. In Oregon, Josephine and Jacksoncounties and eastern Curry County. This includes the entire RogueValley and the cities of Medford, Grants Pass, Cave Junction, andButte Falls.* WHEN...Until 9 PM PDT Monday.* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly duringextreme heat events. Area rivers will be cold and can cause shockto swimmers.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This will be a multi day heat wave with thewarmest temperatures on Friday and Saturday. The Medford Airporthas a 40% chance to tie or exceed the all time temperature recordof 115.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Carinteriors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke.
