Special Weather Statement issued June 5 at 2:42AM CDT by NWS Shreveport LAAt 242 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms alonga line extending from near Athens to near Lockesburg to Ashdown tonear Hooks. Movement was east at 45 mph.HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.SOURCE...Radar indicated.IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow aroundunsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation ispossible.Locations impacted include...Hope, Ashdown, Nashville, Prescott, Mineral Springs, Dierks, Umpire,Lockesburg, Emmet, Wilton, Blevins, Perrytown, Tollette, Fulton,Washington, Ogden, Ben Lomond, Bodcaw, Corinth, and Center Point.If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may leadto localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through floodedroadways.Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.
