Red Flag Warning issued May 25 at 3:25AM MST until May 25 at 6:00PM MST by NWS Flagstaff AZMST Sat May 25 2024/...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM MST /NOON MDT/ THISMORNING TO 6 PM MST /7 PM MDT/ THIS EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDSAND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE LITTLE COLORADO RIVER VALLEYAND CHINLE VALLEY...The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a Red FlagWarning due to strong winds and low relative humidity, which isin effect from 11 AM MST /noon MDT/ this morning to 6 PM MST/7 PM MDT/ this evening.* AFFECTED AREA...Much of the Little Colorado River Valley as wellas Chinle Valley.* WINDS...Southwest 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 13 percent.* IMPACTS...Any fires that start will have the potential torapidly grow in size and intensity before first responders cancontain them.A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditionsare either occurring or are imminent. A combination of strongwinds and low relative humidities can contribute to extreme firebehavior.Please notify field crews of this Red Flag Warning.
