Overexposure can cause heat cramps and heatexhaustion to develop and, without intervention, can lead to heatstroke.* WHERE...Central La Paz County, Parker Valley, Aguila Valley, andPalo Verde Valley.* WHEN...Until 8 PM MST /8 PM PDT/ Tuesday.* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly duringextreme heat events.An Excessive Heat Warning means that a period of very hottemperatures, even by local standards, will occur. Actions should betaken to lessen the impact of the extreme heat.Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Whenpossible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning orevening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possibleand drink plenty of water.To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety andHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks inshaded or air conditioned environments.
