special weather statement in effectSeries of storms to affect the BC North and Central Coasts over the next week.Monday, December 23rd: A low pressure centre off the coast of BC will bring strong winds beginning on Monday morning. These winds will intensify through the evening and be very strong until the storm moves off Tuesday late morning. Additionally, coastal areas of the North and Central coasts including Douglas Channel may experience flooding due to storm surge.Tuesday, December 24th to Thursday, December 26th: A powerful frontal system arrives on the north coast late Tuesday evening. Very strong winds and heavy rain are expected to last until early on Thursday. Thursday, December 26th to Friday, December 27th: A weaker low pressure system will approach northern Vancouver Island late on Thursday and spread strong winds the central coast until Friday morning.Weather warnings will be issued if necessary as confidence in the storm tracks and impacts grows.###Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
