VERY HEAVY SURF which may lead to localised damage and coastal erosion is likely to develop about exposed coasts between Ulladulla and Broken Bay during Thursday, extending north to Seal Rocks Thursday evening and to Smoky Cape during Friday. These conditions are likely to persist into Saturday north of Port Hacking. Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas. Locations which may be affected include Port Kembla, Wollongong, Sydney, Terrigal, Norah Head, Newcastle, and Port Macquarie.Coastal Hazard Warningfor DAMAGING SURFIssued at 11:45 am Wednesday, 15 January 2025.The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires. * For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.The next Coastal Hazard Warning will be issued by 5:00 pm AEDT Wednesday.Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
